Film crews often wait around for hours to shoot a single scene that may only be preserved onscreen for less than five minutes. Like many demanding jobs and polluted metropolitan cities, stress is often vented through bad habits such as smoking or pills. I was determined to create a product that would simulate the effects of “taking a drag” off a cigarette and the after effects of a tranquilizer without the aftermath of smelly soot covered clothes and long term addictions. A film friend introduced me to aromatic body wraps and I quickly became a fan of aromatherapy. It was all natural, relaxing and detoxifying. It soon became apparent, everything people are seeking has already been provided by nature.
Married to the balm…
I wanted a product people could take with them between spa visits and soon realized I and many others always carried some form of lip moisturizer. Lip balms were the common denominator used by both men and women alike.
I merged my adoration of aromatherapy with the mobility and function of the lip balm. Being a vegetarian at the time, I decided early that all the ingredients must be organic and vegan too.
